Brits add 'Video CV'

English recruitment consulting firm Beresford Blake Thomas (BBT) has added an online video component to its resume feature, allowing job-seekers to upload videos that personally describe their qualifications to prospective employers.

The feature, provided in partnership with online video solutions company Jobs2View, will allow candidates to express themselves more fully than they presently can with a print resume.

The "video CV" will also streamline recruiters' searches for ideal candidates, and it potentially will eliminate travel expenses and managerial time wasted on candidates who look good on paper, but flounder in person. Videos can be recorded on any digital recording device-including cell phones, cameras and webcams-for upload on BBT's website.

BBT specializes in global specialist placement and provides services in several major U.S. cities.

Video resumes should begin to play an increased role in job searches in the U.S. in the near future. A number of companies are already using video in job ads.
