If you can't join a couple million of your closest friends here in Washington D.C. for Barack Obama's inauguration as the 44th president of the United States Tuesday, fear not. A wide range of media organizations are streaming the inauguration, so there are ample choices for coverage of the historic event.

Building on its success using online video to cover the conventions and election night, the Associated Press will use online video to cover the inauguration and peripheral events extensively. Full anchored coverage begins on the AP's Online Video Network, and will continue throughout the day, bringing footage and commentary from the inauguration, the parade and various inaugural balls.

CNN will partner with Facebook to provide a "status update" bar to let users update their Facebook status while watching live streams of the event in CNN's video player.

All four major TV networks, CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox, C-SPAN, The Washington Post and The New York Times also will stream the inauguration on their web sites and provide commentary.

If I've missed a destination where you plan to watch the inauguration events, let me know, and I'll add it to the list.

The intersection of online video and politics has never been more apparent, as YouTube this week launched its Congressional channels, allowing senators and representatives to upload videos about their platforms to a dedicated online video channel on the site. Online video certainly played a role in Obama's election, so it will be interesting to see what perspectives the mix of professional and citizen journalism online video coverage has on the inauguration.
