VMIX signs up 14 more local TV stations

Tools

VMIX, one of the earliest entrants into the online video platform space, announced it has signed 14 additional Raycom broadcast stations. After testing the platform at five of its 46 television stations, Raycom decided to expand the offering to a wider swath of its audience. VMIX has deals in place with other media companies such as Tribune and McClatchy as well, and the company knows how to play in this space, according to comments made by CEO Mike Glickenhaus in an interview.

VMIX leverages a content network across its properties to provide additional video to partners, in addition to the television content they repurpose for online audiences. The platform also has a unique user-generated content review system that involves human oversight and automatic filtering, providing quick upload times coupled with better security and copyright controls, according to Glickenhaus.
