VIDEO: Google announces plan for 1Gbps fiber optical broadband trial in U.S.

Google has announced it intends to roll out ultra high-speed fiber optic broadband connections to between 50,000 and 500,000 people in the United States in an effort to spur the development of true high-speed connectivity across the nation. The company said it will announce an array of communities to participate in the trial by the end of the year.
