Video ad views up more than 300% for Mixpo
Mixpo, an online video advertising company focusing on local video ads, reported it has seen monthly campaigns run by local media partners grow by more than 300 percent year-over-year. In addition to the increased video views, Mixpo reported that partners such as Comcast Spotlight, NBC Local Media, Tribune and others have seen more than one-third of the video views convert into additional interactions such as click-throughs or emails.
Mixpo CEO Anupam Gupta said since advertisers have spent significant sums on video creative for TV, it follows that translating that content to the Web is the easiest way for local advertisers to leverage online video. The company also places the video content in display inventory, which it says saves money over pre-roll or post-roll ad placement. However, other companies playing in local advertising, such as Jivox, advocate a more web-focused approach to online video ad creation.
Mixpo also recently announced a partnership with National Cable Communications, the leader in cable television advertising sales and marketing, to bring NCC video ads online using the Mixpo platform.
