Canadian cableco Rogers working with thePlatform on OV initiative

OVP stalwart thePlatform has had a busy news day. In addition to announcing it had scored more than 20 new individual programming network deals over the past two months, and releasing a plethora of "TV Everywhere" news, it also announced a new addition to its stable of cable TV service providers.

Rogers Communications, Canada’s top cable TV service provider, is working with thePlatform on an online video initiative that, for the moment, is a little bereft of detail.

Although thePlatform is offering little more on its partnership with Rogers, it is interesting to note that the Seattle-based, white-label online video platform is serving as the online video management system for most of the largest cable TV providers in North America, including Cablevision, Cox, Comcast, Rogers ands Time Warner Cable.
