Sorenson Media launches video delivery network
Sorenson Media, maker of the popular encoding program Squeeze, announced the launch of Sorenson 360, a video delivery network designed to make online video publishing easier for video professionals and small- to medium-sized businesses. The browser-based product supports multiple video file formats, can be customized to the end user's specifications, and comes with analytics functionality.
Sorenson said the product will help drive down the cost of publishing video while also providing greater choice to video professionals.
"Sorenson 360 is a complete, end-to-end video publishing system in a SaaS model that re-imagines what video publishing should be," Sorenson Media CEO Peter Csathy said. "Sorenson 360 lets publishers get high-quality video onto the Web quickly and easily, and solves problems our customers had with their current video publishing workflows."
The base Sorenson 360 package starts at $99, which gets publishers up to 2,500 video streams per month and 10 GB of storage. Csathy stressed that this pricing model provides greater transparency for video professionals and businesses deploying video, as the traditional per-GB pricing is not as predictable.
