All good things must end, they say, and it's not without a little bit of sadness that I write my final editor's note for FierceOnlineVideo. I've had an excellent time and learned so much from all my conversations with you, and I look forward to continuing our relationship in my new endeavor. Shoot me an email or give me a call, and I'll fill you in. I'll be exploring the transition from TV to online video and from other forms of traditional media to IP-based ones, and what these changes mean for communicators seeking to impart their message to different audiences. If you have an opinion or experience in this area, please get in touch.

I'd also like to introduce everyone to the new Editor of FierceOnlineVideo, Jim O'Neill. Jim's a seasoned journalist who's reported and edited a wide variety of topics for major publications across the country for more than 25 years. He's worked with Fierce for the past two years, editing and writing at various times for nearly all of the wireless and wireline publications.

He'll bring that experience to coverage of this fascinating, evolving space, and I hope you give him a warm welcome and help him as he gets a grasp of the online video industry. Jim, who works from the Western Michigan area, prefers to be contacted initially by email at jimo@fiercemarkets.com. Let him know your company's plans for Q4 and what you do in the space for background.

I've enjoyed my time writing this publication immensely, and I would like to thank Fierce for the opportunity and all my wonderful contacts and sources for their support and guidance. Online video is in an exciting place right now. The fundamentals for growth have been established, but few clear winners have emerged, meaning it will be an industry to watch for years to come.

All my best to all of you.

- Pete
