Online video companies celebrated in OnMedia 100 Awards
AlwaysOn, a leading open-media blog and event community, announced the recipients of its 2009 OnMedia 100 Awards, and six prominent online video companies were among those recognized. The awards are given for demonstrated excellence in five categories: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value creation and media buzz.
Online video advertisers were the best represented in the group of 100, as four companies received awards, and Adap.tv won the group. Adap.tv won the group for its OneSource online video ad platform, which gives publishers complete control over the display of their ad. Adap.tv reports that more than 300 publishers have adopted the platform in the U.S. and 70 other countries.
BrightRoll, Jivox, and YuMe also received awards in online video advertising.
Instructional online video produced 5min and online video analytics firm TubeMogul rounded out the online video award winners.
"The 2009 OnMedia 100 companies have demonstrated their tenacity even in the toughest economic conditions that the technology world has ever encountered," said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "We applaud their success in pushing the boundaries of innovation, creating market opportunities and transforming the industry even in the earlier stages of their businesses."
The winners will be recognized at the OnMedia 100 conference, which will be held at the RitzCarlton hotel in New York City on Feb. 2-4.
