Online video ad insertion platform Auditude raises $10.5M
Auditude, a online video management and advertising platform, announced Wednesday the closing of $10.5 million in Series B funding. Redpoint Ventures led the round along with previous investors Greylock Partners. As part of the funding announcement, Redpoint partner Chris Moore joins Auditude's board.
"Auditude exhibits many of the market-disrupting qualities we look for in potential industry leaders," Moore said. "The company has an opportunity, with its partners and its platform, to help shape this market by dramatically simplifying the monetization of online video."
Auditude's value proposition comes in the form of "fingerprinting" technology, which identifies client's video assets displayed on websites and runs the clients' ads over top of them automatically. Auditude is currently deployed on MySpace as part of a deal with MTV Networks, where it analyzes video uploads and identifies MTV content. The software then runs ads with them in a novel way to profit from content posted without authorization.
"We have been able to drive some big innovations this year and seen tremendous growth in our business," said Adam Cahan, CEO of Auditude. "This investment will help us to further our goals of growing the market for online video by enhancing distribution, advertising and management."
