Over the weekend, Netflix repsonded to blog posts and forum discussions about apparent service issues with its streaming video offering. Neil Hunt, chief product officer for the company, said the way Netflix's content is distributed across various CDN servers and varying regional density of use contribute to occasional lagging. Hunt also mentioned that video performance also has a lot to do with the device a customer uses, as certain ones have higher bottlenecks than others.

Hunt assured users that the Netflix engineering team is working diligently to remedy the streaming incidents by updating its version of Microsoft's Silverlight video player to include multi-sourcing capabilities.
