mSpot to stream full-length films to smartphones

Tools

mSpot, a start-up company aiming to be a mobile entertainment hub, announced a mobile video service that will stream full-length movies on smartphones. The company, which has content deals with Paramount, Universal and The Weinstein Company, is offering 350 films initially, according to TechCrunch.

Users of the service will have several payment options, including renting individual movies for $4.99, or buying one of three monthly subscription packages, which range from $9.99 to $15.99. Instead of having to download and sync movies, the streaming service enables immediate playback.

Streaming full length movies on a smartphone, however, could be difficult given battery life and wireless data connectivity issues.
