Rocketboom founder Andrew Baron is attempting to cut through the online video clutter with the launch of Magma, an online video chart listing the most popular videos in a given day. The aggregator charts videos from usual suspects like YouTube, Hulu, the broadcast network video sites and others by ranking them by viewing statistics on a "hotness" scale from one to 11.

You might be thinking this is comparable to other video search aggregators like Onlinevideoguide.com or Blinkx that list most viewed videos, but this one goes to eleven.

Baron told ReadWriteWeb that his site's advantage lies in its online video centric design, which makes it a superior video discovery mechanism than real time update engines like Facebook updates and Twitter. The site also integrates social functionality with customizable user pages and collections of favorite videos.
