Global payments system chooses Contendo for CDN services

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based CDN Contendo has signed a deal to provide site acceleration services to global payments solution company Payoneer. The company already has decreased web access time significantly.

Cotendo's CDN Balancer is being used to optimize content delivery and its Dynamic Site Acceleration is used for accelerating non-cacheable, dynamic content.

Payoneer says performance improvements were immediate; in some geographical regions, access times have been reduced by as much as 75 percent. "The improvements in our website performance have had a direct -- very positive -- effect on a massive international customer base," said Payoneer CEO Yuval Tal.

Payoneer's Website consistently experiences heavy traffic in both well-developed broadband networks like the U.S. and Europe, and experiences bottlenecks in less-developed regions

"As a financial services provider, secure transactions and speed are critical to our business," Tal said. "Cotendo's SSL acceleration technology really impressed us, and we felt it was clearly the best solution out there."

Tal said an additional selling point was that Payoneer didn't have to make HTML changes on its website to deliver content over Cotendo's CDN. "The implementation could not have been more straightforward," he said.

Founded in 2008, Contendo was founded in 2008 and is funded by Sequoia Capital and Benchmark Capital. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., its R&D is based in Israel.
