Comcast won't kill Hulu, spin off NBC if sale approved

Tools

Comcast is pledging that acquiring NBCU won't impact cable prices and says its doesn't plan to spin off the NBC network or any of its affiliate stations, Broadcast & Cable reports. B&C, citing a confidential presentation it says the cable operator is using to woo legislators and the FCC, says Comcast claims approval of its deal to buy NBCU from parent General Electric also won't significantly alter the competitive landscape.

The document, "The Myths -- and Realities -- About the Comcast/Universal Transactions," also addresses Hulu, which critics worry could disappear if the deal goes through. Comcast says "we expect the good relationship to continue," pointing out that it has a contract with the video hub to share content with its own hub, Fancast.
