Blip.tv nets YouTube distribution deal
Blip.tv announced a serious upgrade to its distribution strategy Tuesday, as it announced it has signed a deal with YouTube to let Blip.tv's ads run in YouTube's player for video makers who use Blip.tv's service. Blip.tv also announced other new opportunities, including a distribution deal with NBC and enhanced deals to show Blip.tv videos on Tivos, Sony broadband-enabled TVs and Verizon's FiOS service.
Blip.tv's CEO Mike Hudack told TechCrunch he expects the deals to double the start-up's audience. In addition to the distribution deals, Blip launched an updated version of its content management client so that its users can see both audience and monetization reports on their video content.
