Animoto partners with LIFE.com for video gallery creations

Video creation platform Animoto has scored a coup, selected to partner with LIFE.com to help users create animated video galleries of some of LIFE magazine's most well-known news, entertainment and feature photos. Animoto allows users to upload photographs video and music clips to mash into MTV like music videos.

LIFE.com also is featuring many of its photos ion  the Life.com website as video galleries, created using Animoto. The partnership gives Animoto access to more than 100 wholly-owned images from the life image collection archives. Entomb users will be able to create their own music videos using the iconic photographs. Photos from World War II, classic New York Yankees teams, Steve McQueen, Grace Kelly's wedding, and Martin Luther King's 1963 March on Washington, are among those already available to users.

"The mission of LIFE.com has always been to share great photography and allow users to ‘see their world' through these images. We are thrilled to expand on this mission by partnering with Animoto and allowing users to view these galleries in video format, giving an added layer to the user experience with music and motion," LIFE.com president Andrew Blau said in a prepared statement.
