Digitalsmiths, an online video monetization solution company, today announced VideoSense 2.0, a new metadata analysis and free-form video search product. VideoSense 2.0 uses Digitalsmiths' visual interpretation tools to collect and combine metadata on facial recognition, scene classification and object identification, according to the company.
CEO Ben Weinberger said the product was designed to meet the needs of premium content owners such as production studios and TV networks.
"An advanced metadata management framework, like MetaFrame, can bolster (the premium content holders') digital media strategy, give them a distinct competitive advantage and enable them to deliver content on-demand, anytime, anywhere on any device," Weinberger said.
Digitalsmiths also announced the new product comes with a search function that can be embedded directly in video players to deliver highly relevant search results based on actor names, characters, locations and objects within a scene, according to the company.
