The FeedRoom's new video platform

The FeedRoom has announced the FeedRoom 4.0 Enterprise Video Platform at the Forrester Consumer Forum in Dallas. The white-label software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution makes it easier than every for companies to integrate video, according to company officials.

"Our software is prepared for this moment in the industry, and it is ready for integration," FeedRoom CEO and President Mark Portu said. "The 4.0 release is an enormous milestone and a culmination of where the company has positioned itself from the beginning."

The launch of FeedRoom 4.0 coincides with the company's tenth anniversary, particularly notable as the FeedRoom is one of a handful of online video companies that weathered the initial dot com bubble and found considerable success where competitors faltered.

Portu said the redesign of the platform increased the core speed of processing and transcoding through an overhaul of the back-end interface. He also noted that the new platform is easier for customers to implement, and it has increased customization capabilities.

The FeedRoom has positioned itself in the corporate video market by offering a wide range of services, with complete flexibility on the customer's part to dictate the level of the FeedRoom's involvement in their video operations. Currently, around 77 percent of the company's revenue is generated from corporate customers, according to Portu.

"The software as a service model lets customers customize our offering to their needs, and allow us to offer critical business applications along with the video solution," Portu said. "It's flexible, as third-parties can easily use the system and integrate it into the corporate world."

The FeedRoom has already helped major corporations such as General Motors, Hewlett Packard and Intel distribute video content online. With the launch of its new platform, The FeedRoom hopes to move down the stack to bring high-end video solutions to smaller (relatively speaking) enterprises, as the cost of producing and delivering video online has decreased considerably. It also recently received a $12 million round of financing, which could allow them to more aggressively market the product.
